We’d be graceful in today’s victory
To avoid a complicated history
We’d forbear lies and any bad story
To renounce malice and blustery
Let it never appear at any game
Let alone under your just name
Let it not be a cover for any fame
Or let it in under a different claim
The very weakness of the virtuous
It makes pure all things meritorious
Empty victories do the foul spirits attain
But, we’d continue that good refrain
For we know that love is a dearth
And that dearth love not death
Death finally would be a dearth
Dearth could be scarce on earth
